Minty Sainsbury

Minty Sainsbury was born in Scotland, 1991. Here is what she says about her work:
“I studied architecture at the Emmanuel College at the University of Cambridge, graduating top of my year in 2013 and went on to work in a London architectural practice. Here I discovered that the drawing board no longer has a place in the modern architectural office, so I picked up the pencil with the intention of keeping the art of architectural drawing alive. My background in architecture has not only influenced my choice of subject matter but also my style of drawing. Having spent years designing floor plans and positioning windows on modern facades, I see this understanding of spatial design expressed in the compositions of my drawings. The elegance of the architecture in our streets can all too often be overlooked. Through my work I hope to focus the viewers’ eye on the beauty and intricate detail in our surroundings. I hope that this attention to detail in my drawings reflects the dedication and commitment of the craftsmen and architects that designed them.”
We took Minty on in late 2015 and exhibited her work at the October Battersea AAF. We will be exhibiting her work in New York in 2016.
