Ron Lawson
Ron Lawson is an artist of unique style and outstanding technique. In the relatively short time he has been exhibiting, Ron's work has met with phenomenal success throughout Scotland and London, resulting in his remarkable ascendancy towards a deserved reputation as the rising star of Scottish landscape painting.
Born in 1960, Ron spent his early years on a farm in Mid-Lothian Scotland, before a career took him to the art studio of publishers DC Thompson in Dundee where he progressively developed the dynamic and highly individual palette and technique that is central to his work today.
For over 20 years, Ron has spent a great deal of time exploring the Western Isles and is deeply inspired by the people, lifestyles and landscape of these sparsely populated dramatic outposts. His current body of work features the vast open space and brooding skies of the Isles of the Outer Hebrides and celebrates the wild remoteness, peace and simplicity of this treasured part of rural Scotland.
In 2010 after 35 years, Ron left his career to concentrate his time fully on painting. His distinctive and contemporary Scottish landscapes appeal to an international audience, and are already in private collections worldwide. Ron has regularly exhibited in Scotland and London, resulting in sell out solo and group exhibitions.
